Ohene Cornelius is a Harlem-born, Bronx-raised artist whose work defies categorization, spanning film, television, music, comedy, and fashion. A graduate of the "school of hard knocks and creative hustle," Cornelius has appeared on the big screen (Kick-Ass, Zenith), television (Blindspot, Person of Interest), and digital platforms (blackandsexytv), earning recognition for his "truthful living" performances—whether in absurd comedic roles or raw dramatic moments .
As a musician, Cornelius blends hip-hop, experimental sounds, and social commentary, dubbing himself the "Steve Jobs of music" and the "Frederick Douglass of Rap" for his innovative, community-driven approach . His discography—including albums like American Idle and Flight Risk (produced by Kino of Lighthouse Music)—explores polarities: "truth/lies, valor/cowardice, triumph/failure" . Tracks like Revolutionary Ratchet and Harlem River Yacht Club showcase his lyrical dexterity and commitment to Black empowerment, with lines like *"Root for everybody Black or don’t speak to me.”
Beyond entertainment, Cornelius is a cultural architect. He founded the lifestyle brand Harlem River Yacht Club, a nod to his roots and a platform for "high vibrations" and artistic collaboration . His philanthropic work includes advocating for Bronx arts infrastructure—pushing for festivals, affordable artist lofts, and intergenerational grants .
A father and self-proclaimed "late bloomer," Cornelius embraces his role as a cross-generational storyteller. His upcoming project *Handle with Care*—a narrative of struggle and unexpected grace—mirrors his own journey: relentless, unfiltered, and deeply human .
"I am an artist because I choose to live through my creative work." —Ohene Cornelius
